(NOW AVAILABLE! Click to Buy These 2005+ Tacoma Fender Flares Now!)
As many already know, we are working on Tacoma fender flares for the 2005 and newer Toyota short box pick up. We would like these to provide more coverage than any other fender flares on the market for this model. We were slow getting started, and we ran into some difficulties and delays along the way, but I assure you that we are making some headway now. Just yesterday I saw a very rough version of the final shape and they are looking awesome! People told us that they want something that looks original but bigger and this is exactly what we’ve come up with. Thanks so much to all the people at TacomaWorld for your feedback and suggestions, and thanks to everybody for your patience throughout this long process.
I still don’t have a time frame as it depends on business levels around here as well as final fitting of course! As the progress continues, I will try to leave updates below in the comments section of this page. Feel free to bookmark it, stick it on your facebook page or do what ever you do to keep your eye on things!
Also, if anyone has the need for the original size and style 4wd Tacoma SB fender flares, we will likely be able to provide them as well. Please be patient a little longer and we’ll get your Toyota Tacoma 4×4 covered with some fatter but OEM style fender flares soon.
NOTE: UPDATES will be placed in the comments section below. Most recent are at the bottom.

any plans for 05+ longbox?
We will certainly be looking into fender flares for the 05+ Tacoma Longbox once we get this set all finished up. I imagine that the rears in this set will likely just need some minor adjustments to fit the long box but I’m not sure yet. Obviously the fronts will fit as they are.
We are working on the finishing touches of our fender flares for the 2005 and newer Toyota Tacoma SB. Production should be ready within about a week although test-fitting is yet to be done so that will likely require a few more weeks. Here is a sneak peak of how they will look. As you can see, they have the same styling as OEM but larger;

are these going to be “pocket” style? or are they going to keep that same shape they have now?
No, they are not going to be pocket style. They basically have an OEM look only larger.
I like them. Can’t wait to see them installed. Will you be making a matching flare for the front bumper ends, too?
Yes, we will be making the small front bumper mounted flares to match.
This is great news! They’re looking awesome. I’m ready to order up when you’ve got some ready to go. I was just on the highway an my flare flew half way off. Having no tools on hand, I had to cut it. I can’t wait til you guys are ready to go!
Looking forward to getting these Flares for my 09 DC SB… any updates on the timeline and progress??
Thanks a bunch!!
Barrett
The first set of fender flares for 2005 and newer Toyota Tacoma short boxes have been made. We are still doing test-fitting though so we are hoping that these will be available for regular production within a month from now!
Since Toyota tacos only come in limited colours (6),wouldn’t it be an easier step to colour match in production than for us to search out a good and honest body shop.I would be willing to pay the extra costs. If not, the flares look great anyways.
where do we sign up??
How ’bout some pics of them installed? Price point?
We don’t have any pics of them installed yet, but we will definitely post them as soon as we do. As far as pricing, these will likely be about $260 per set plus about $60-70 shipping although it depends on the final weight.
Please just keep an eye on this page for updates. Once they are available, they can be purchased through our online store.
According to this chart, there are many more colours available for Tacomas. I am not sure we could handle stocking so many, and I am also not sure if all the North American paint codes would be available here. Its something I can look into though as painting them per order may be a possibility.
They look like they are a bit shorter in height (lower profile, perhaps) than the stockers which would give an appearance of more lift or fender room. True?
They actually go up the fender the same amount as the stock fender flares. Since they stick out more, they may appear to have less “fender coverage” although its actually the same.
Are the flares molded black or painted?
These do have a matte black finish but we recommend repainting just to be safe as the finish can get stuffed during shipping.
Lookin great! Can’t wait to slap a pair on my Taco. It’s lookin pretty naked without some flares. Can’t wait to see a pic of them mounted. Will you guys be mounting them on a truck with oversized (33s maybe?) tires so we can get a good idea? Thanks.
Yes, they will be tested on a Tacoma will 33′s and we will get photos up at that time. Thanks for following along!
OMG sign me up, from these pix they look awesome. I can not WAIT to buy a set of these!
Great job guys!
can’t wait to see them installed too, but how far is the extra coverage over factory? hopefully nothing rediculously wide
Are the flares bolt on or clip on and do they come with the fastening hardware
These do not come with installation hardware. You can use the hardware of your choice to secure them. Most people just use sheet metal or even self-tapping screws, or nuts, bolts and washers, and some even prefer rivets. In any case, there is no special hardware required.
Any good news on the arrival of the flares to market. My 2005 Tacoma is looking pretty naked without a set on it.
Do you have the actual additional coverage of these flares, beyond the stock flares?
How much more coverage they will provide over the stock flares.
(Not the BS measurements that BushWacker list)
These new fender flares will provide about 1 inch more coverage than the stock flares.
I have a 2010 5lug Base model Taco. What I would like to know is will these flares fit on my truck?
I see that the fender part numbers are the same for 2wd, 4wd and pre-runner Tacomas in 2010 so they must all use the same body panels.
when will they be available????
We are still waiting for feedback about the test-fitting of the first set so we still don’t have an exact date. Thank you for your patience. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer!
waiting for these, not sure if bushwakers will be enough clearance
Just removed my rear (OEM) fender flares. They were getting nastily shaky on the highway and were gonna come off some time sooner or later. Had no idea underneath would be a dent factory. Can’t wait to get these flares to bring the truck back to how it use to look.
Any current news on how the test fit is going? How about some pics of the flares on a Taco.
I am sorry but the test-fitter has been really busy and still hasn’t got them installed. He has held them up to the truck and reported that they “should” fit fairly easily but hasn’t had a chance to confirm it yet. He will be taking photos throughout the process as well…hopefully very soon!
If we have any more guinea pigs, I could give somebody a good deal on a set based on a few conditions!?
I would very interested in test fitting set for you. I have a 2005 tacoma double cab sport. The factory flares are off the truck, waiting for a pair to be installed. Send me an E-mail with your conditions if you would like another guinea pig to try out a set for you.
We have just heard back from the test fitting on a short box and they were installed without any problems. At this point, we would like to see what is involved in installing them on a long box 2005 and up Tacoma. Anybody with a long box want to make a deal?
Test fitting on the short box has been completed without a hitch. Production begins! More photos to come soon.
Well if you need a test fitter for the long box I would totally help out!
GREAT NEWS!!!! I’ll be ordering a set as soon they become available.
Hows production going on the 2005 tacoma flares? Any idea when they will be ready for market?
Are they new flares rigid or due they have some flex to them?
These are now available off and on through our online fender flare store as supply permits. Please keep checking back as inventory levels will be updated daily.
Being fiberglass, these do have some flexibility. Also, if they were to get hit hard enough to cause damage, fiberglass can be repaired much easier than ABS plastic wheel flares.
Bad Ass. probably gonna put in my order next month- couldn’t hold on to the cash long enough lol

I have the Bushwackers installed and painted to match the truck but I never really cared for the pockets or the fact that they didn’t cover the tires and I can’t mount mudflaps on them.
I probably spent $1200.00 for the flairs+shipping+paint and I might do it over if you guys have a better product but I really want to mount mudflaps.
Maybe I could sell the Bushwackers for $500.00 to help pay for new ones.
They’re Barcelona Red.
Our 2005+ Tacoma wheel flares are bigger than the Bushwackers and they don’t have pockets. Actually they are the same style as the OEM flares that came on your truck, only they provide about an inch more coverage. I can’t see any reason why mudflaps couldn’t be mounted, but to be fair, I haven’t looked into this. This lower inner lip area of the flare is the same as the OEM flares but we did trim a little out near the bottom to prevent rubbing so there is a bit less material in that area compared to the OEM. Can you tell me what the problem is with those mudflaps fitting the BW flares? More people will be installing these new fender flares soon and providing feedback to me and on the Jungle Fender Flares TacomaWorld Thread. Once they install them, I am sure we can get more information about fitting mudflaps from them. The one person that has already installed them had to cut the rear section of the rear flares off to accommodate his wrap-around rear All Pro bumper, so he doesn’t even have this mudflap area anymore.
I am still in the middle of checking out your Tacoma website but your truck is looking great. Very clean machine, and clearly very detail-oriented. A bit of a perfectionist I think?! I think that painting the BW fender flares was a major improvement to the flow and unity of the truck, but I agree that the pockets still look a little too stand-out-ish and clearly aftermarket. I can see how those tailgate chains would fit in there better with them folding up better and gravity pulling them into place quicker then cables. I would still worry about that one time that something funny happens and you pinch a chain in the side of the tailgate when you close it and gouge the edge of the tailgate and/or crack the edge of the taillight. Do they make any noise bouncing around in there? Very nice job on the tailgate handle backup camera too! I like those trim little window vent visors as well. I would have thought that an SR5 would have been higher than it originally was, or maybe its just deceiving because of the tires. In any case, the levelling kit and lifts were a very nice upgrade! I am gonna have to get some of those hood struts now too.
Any update?
